Top Five Venues in LA.jpg

The TSV team loves having a location in L.A. and getting to produce events at many different venues. Here are a few of our favorites that we work with!

Why You Should Use Experiential Marketing

Experiential marketing has been connecting brands with consumers for a long time, but some organizations still haven’t taken advantage of this extremely effective method! If you want to stand out, create great content and more, you need to consider experiential marketing. We have laid out some reasons why we believe that YOU should try an experiential approach.

Product Guide for Event Planners: Projectors

When it comes to projectors, buying something cheaper may seem more convenient, but it is not better. Yes, you may find a typical projector at a “big box” chain for only $200, but it won’t compare to what we have to offer!

The projectors we carry at TSV fall into two categories: “Prosumer” and Professional-grade.

Our “prosumer” projectors are 3,000-5,000 lumens and are typically used for many different occasions:

Man, did we have fun this past weekend! Let us tell you why.

Our team provided sound reinforcement for the UCLA women's volleyball team scrimmage using Soundcraft Si2 Expression, Shure ULXD4D Wireless Kits, JBL VRX932 Cabinets, Crown Amps (xti4000's) and a Rapco LTI Laptop Interface! This was their opening scrimmage and took place at Collins Court in the Wooden Center at UCLA. Their team is ranked 8th in the nation and TSV is excited to work with them and watch them play throughout the season. Good luck, ladies!

Going with the first vendor you find.

Florals, catering, linens, AV and more. You’ll need a lot of service providers in your corner in order to put on your ideal event. Everyone has had that manager who gives a million ideas for an event with very little understanding of the cost to execute those ideas. On top of that, you could be working with a venue whose “preferred vendors” or in-house providers could be ridiculously over-priced. Your job is to stay in budget while bringing your manager’s vision to life. IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?? Doing research and pricing out additional audio and lighting vendors can allow you the ability to afford those additional embellishments that help heighten your guests experience or can later give you the flexibility to tackle last minute changes. Outside audio-visual vendors saves an average of 40% over in-house and hotel-contracted providers. Don’t let a venue take advantage of your last minute planning. Read reviews, solicit references and collect examples of a supplier’s work before you pick a winner!...

IPSA contacted our corporate event production team in hopes of increasing the production value of their annual conference, which is held in a different U.S city every year. The TSV Sound and Vision team had previously helped IPSA at their 2016 conference in St. Louis through a recommendation from a member of their association, and the successful planning and execution of that conference led IPSA's to engage TSV for their 2017 conference as well. We were excited to show them new A/V components to make this year’s conference an even greater success, and enjoyed working with their team again. Keep reading to learn more about the corporate event production our team provided, and contact TSV today to see how we can make your next corporate event a huge success!

Nowadays, with information so readily available online at our fingertips, the urge can be greater to do new things ourselves rather than hire a professional. From car repair to home DIY's, many people are taking new and unfamiliar tasks into their own hands. Even more detailed tasks like large event planning may seem like a breeze, particularly when compared to what seems to be the high cost of professionals. However, trying to plan and produce an entire event with little to no help can backfire fast once you get a full grasp of what large event production really entails. Here are three reasons why you might want to leave your large event production and planning to professionals.

LED Video Wall

The TSV Sound & Vision team was proud to have worked with Red Paper Heart, a Brooklyn-based art studio composed of designers and coders, on creating a one-of-a-kind LED wall display for Deloitte at the 116th U.S. Open Golf Tournament. After previously working with Red Paper Heart to produce HBO’s Game of Throne’s experience at SXSW 2015 and Comic Con 2015, they came to us confident that we had the skills and equipment necessary to construct a unique visual effect that would engage and entertain guests

On April 20th, TSV was pleased to be the exclusive audio, video and lighting provider for La Nuit by Sofitel, a "signature party concept that creates a multi-sensory experience for guests [and] will tap into the spirit of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and combine musical appearances from leading artists, modern design and experimental mixology reflecting Sofitel’s brand pillars."

We wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at this exclusive party, and share with you how TSV Sound & Vision was able to elevate the concept of the event and bring it into reality!

A big thanks goes out to Moondance Events and Entertainment and Accor Hotels for bringing TSV into this amazing event!

Robin Simone.jpg

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented Robin Simone on New Year's Eve 2014!

TSV provided the lighting and sound while Robin and her band provided the perfect soundtrack for a wonderful evening at the Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica on New Year's Eve. And what a great way to ring in the new year with great music and entertainment from this 3-time Billboard charting singer! Robin is an incredible performer, and she and her band were definitely bringing the party that night!

With so many microphones out there, it can be hard to know exactly which ones to pick for running a show. Perhaps even more confusing can be the years and years of convention that has whittled “microphone selection” down to just a small few contenders. When you factor a small budget into the mix, the selection gets even more challenging. So let's cut through the clutter and get down to brass tacks. Sure, there are a lot of great microphones out there, microphones that anyone and everyone would dream of having, but we're on a budget here, so this list consists of microphones all priced under $250 new. With a small budget, a truly great microphone collection can be well within your reach.

So without further ado, let’s start the sound check!

Let's start from the left of the board, to the right...

I started playing guitar at 10. While a lot of folks start out on the acoustic, I dove right into the electric guitar. After all, I wanted to be a rockstar just like any other kid. The first "setup" I had was a 1989 Fender Squier II Stratocaster and a little Sundown Formula 50 1x12 combo tube amp, both of which I still have.

Since then, I have been in love with tube amps. While I loved that Sundown (and still do) I always thought Fender made some of the coolest-looking, and most iconic-sounding amplifiers of all time. Ever since I first heard the raw power of a 6L6-driven Fender Twin when I was in high school, I knew that if an amp had said "Fender" it was something very special. Even now, any chance I can get to play a new Fender amp, I'm on it faster than Flo-Jo off of the starting line.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm certainly no supreme authority on the subject of amplifiers, but I thought I would impart a little of what I know about some of these wonderful amps, and their unique characteristics.
